Kid’s toys are very sensitive and need to be handled with utmost care. Babies and toddlers are very fond of their toys but are not aware of the dangers that can be associated with them too. So it’s a parent’s responsibility to take care of the toys and keep them danger free for the kids. Here are some tips that will help you be extra cautious and maintain a healthy safe toy world for your child.

- Babies keep dropping their toys often. Do not just pick them up and place it back in their hands, they would have collect lot of germs. Besides babies tend to put toys between their teeth. Use a sanitizing wipe to clean the toy. Regular cleaning of toys with wipes is recommended too. It is not important to use the wipes you can just sanitize them. Just make sure they are free of any dirt, germs and lint.

- If the toys are of durable material they can be sanitized by putting them in hot water for a few seconds and letting them cool. You can use dish washing liquid too, just make sure the toy is completely rinsed off the liquid before they go to the kid again.

- A wooden or a plastic toy needs to be disinfected too. Use a wet sponge to wipe it and clear away the dirt on it.

- To be more effective with disinfecting, you can make vinegar and water solution in equal parts. Spray it on the toy and let it stay for a while. Wipe away with a damp cloth. The toy would be perfectly disinfected.

- Stuffed toys need to cleaned too as they are the ones that absorb the maximum dust. Dust them daily with a dry duster. Periodically, they need to be washed too. Follow the instructions mentioned in the manual. Majority of them can be washed and dries in the washing machine. It is advisable to wash them enclosed in a linen bag, to make sure the accessories on them do not fall apart when they are being rotated in the machine.

- If using bath toys for your baby. Do not leave them in water after the bath, make sure to drain the excess water out and sun dry them. Any water remaining can lead to the growth of mold and it’s harmful.
